Not all Winterizes are done the same way. At Boathouse Marine Storage + Maintenance we do things the proper way with the longevity of your boat kept in mind.

STEP 1

Run boat up and test for leaks. This way we can identify any potential issues and recommend any services that will increase the life of your boat. We also test your batteries and all electrical systems to verify proper operation.

STEP 2

Drain all the water from the boat, this includes the engine block, ballast bags, heater and shower if applicable. We disconnect the negative terminals of your batteries and tie them to your battery handle for easy re-connection in the summer.

STEP 3

Reinstall all engine plugs and run -100 Celcius antifreeze through your boat’s water systems. Most service providers use -50 Celcius anti freeze which has a freezing point of -11 Celcius. We use the -100 antifreeze which has a freezing point of -51 Celcius.

STEP 4

Drain all the antifreeze from the boat, this includes the engine block, ballast bags, heater and shower if applicable. We add a moisture bag to collect any moisture that may be trapped inside the boat’s interior.

STEP 5

Wait for the boating season to arrive!
